Dave The Lathe was at Yetminster Street Fair (Yetminster is a village and civil parish in the English county of Dorset. It lies within the West Dorset district, about 4 miles south-west of Sherborne. It is sited on the River Wriggle, a tributary of the River Yeo, and is built almost entirely of honey-coloured limestone, which gives the village an appearance reminiscent of Cotswold villages.) and a gentleman came up with this log. He stated 'Bet you cant make something with that', Dace suggested that the gentleman return in quater of an hour.
I nearly finished the bowl and a gentleman turned up at the stall, 'You have made a nice job of that. how much do I owe you for that?'
Nothing replied Dave and the gentleman went away chuffed to bits.
The only problem was that Dave had returned the completed bowl to someone who looked like the original customer, the original customer returned 10 minutes later.
Dave got the original gentleman to return home to collect another piece of timber and fabricated him another bowl.
Eventually one satisfied customer, and one very satisfied freebee.
