Dave came to the assistance of Yorkshire chef Charles Lakin (who at the time was the head chef at the Marquis at Alkham in Kent. Charlie is now at the forefront of the Durban dining scene at 9th Avenue Bistro )It was back on 10th June 2012 where Dave was woodturning at the
Well anyway Charlie was entering the British BBQ championships and was looking for inspiration for a special way to display the fantastic BBQ food that he had prepared for entry into the festival. As he was browsing around Dave The Lathe's display and wooden items that were for sale Charlie spotted some stocky wooden block chopping boards that Dave had prepared from his Dorset timber.
On spying the beautiful wooden block boards Charlie had found just what he was looking for, it was last minute preporation but seemed to fit the bill. Daves wooden blocks were accompanied by 2 of the woodturners favourite, wooden mushrooms. Charlie later took to Twitter describing the wooden blocks as beautiful which as you can imagine made Dave's day.
Laverstoke Park Farm was a great day out and a credit to Jody Scheckter, Dave looks forward to be able to return as he had a great day here in 2012
